Il testo della Come Monday

Headed up to San Fransisco
For the Labor Day weekend show
I got my Hush Puppies on
I guess I never was meant for glitter or rock & roll
Honey, I didn't know that I'd be missin' you so

Come Monday, it'll be alright
Come Monday, I'll be holding you tight
I spent 4 lonely days in brown l.a. haze
And I just want you back by side

Yes, it's been quite a summer
Rent a cars & west bound trains
And now you're off on vacation
Some thing you tried to explain
Yes, since I love you so
That's reason I just let you go

Come Monday, it'll be alright
Come Monday, I'll be holding you tight
I spent 4 lonely days in brown l.a. haze
And I just want you back by side

I can't help it honey
you're that much part of me now
Remember that night in Montana
When we said there'd be no room fo doubt

I hope your enjoying the scenry
I know that it's pretty out there
Yea, we can go hiking on Tuesday
With you I'd walk anywhere
California has worn me quite thin
I just can't wait to see you again

Chorus

'Come Monday' is a song written and performed by American popular music singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett. It was first released on his 1974 album 'Living & Dying in ¾ Time' and was his first Top 40 hit single reaching #30 on the 'Billboard' Hot 100 as well as #3 Easy Listening and #58 Country.

Buffett wrote the song to his wife while he was on tour. At a live performance in 1974, Buffett mentioned that he wrote the song heading out to California the previous year, so would have been written as he was 'heading up to San Francisco for the Labor Day Weekend show' in 1973. The single version of the song replaces the third line, 'I've got my Hush Puppies on,' with 'I've got my hiking shoes on.' The song is one of Buffett's more popular, and is part of 'The Big 8' that he has played at almost all of his concerts.
